Nitron are a manufacturer of high performance car and motorcycle shock absorbers based in Witney, Oxfordshire. We have a vacant position within our brand new purpose built, clean and bright offices & workshops where we design and assemble our products. We pride ourselves in being a supplier of top level engineered products all over the world and export about 3/4 of our production. We have distribution and assembly operations in Japan, as well as a new assembly operation in California, USA opening this year.
We are now seeking a person to assist with managing all our internal data with immediate effect.
Job Description:
Nitron has recently introduced a new stock control and planning system (software), with the purpose of stock and production management for the UK, Japan and the US. The data collected in this process allows us to plan both purchasing and production functions, improving efficiency and reducing both stock levels and production lead-times.
Nitron has many thousands of different types of parts used in thousands of different product assemblies, all with hundreds of parts per assembly, all built to specific customer order. The specific job role is to collect, analyse and manage all the order, production and stock data, producing data sets that can be used for improved predictive purchasing and production planning. This is not the maintenance of existing sets of collected data, rather the creation of entirely new ones.
This is a new role and will require a person who is used to dealing with large data sets on multiple platforms, outputting and syncing data to new uniquely created and formatted data sets. Working closely with sales, purchasing and production, the data will be used to drive improved efficiency and reduce lead-times and waste.
No specific program knowledge is required as it is likely our systems will represent and unique combination, but a very strong ability to use MS Excel with be an absolute requirement.
The successful applicant will enjoy working with numbers and data, and have a very strong analytical mind, as well as an ability to learn new systems and be able to show a track record of data analysis.
This position is only open to local area candidates with a university degree qualification.
This position is initially for a one-year period, with the strong possibility of becoming a permanent position. Nitron are offering an annual salary in excess of £32,000 (depending on ability / experience) for a 37.5 hour working week, with the opportunity to progress within the company.
