Job Introduction

The UK Health Security Agency is an executive agency of the Department of Health providing strategic leadership and vision for protecting and improving the nation’s health. It is a delivery organisation with operational autonomy to advise and support government, local authorities, the NHS and the public on all matters of public health protection.

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our organization. The candidate must have experience conducting full lifecycle analysis within activities and design. The role will also involve developing analysis and reporting capabilities. You will also be required to monitor performance and quality control to identify improvements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Writing SQL scripts, queries, and stored procedures to extract data
  • Develops complex advancement reports using SQL, Microsoft Office and other utilities or languages as necessary
  • Performing ad hoc and structured data analysis
  • Generating quality reports
  • Identify data issues proactively and flag them to respective stakeholders
  • Working/work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution
  • Effectively manage your workload, ensuring that proactive action is taken and expected outcomes are met
  • Report to the team lead providing regular workload updates
  • Have a committed approach to task completions
  • Apply analytical and innovative problem-solving skills
  • Implement best practices in data management to ensure the integrity of the data, the quality of data processes and delivers analysable or analysed data to a variety of internal and external clients
The Ideal Candidate
  • Extensive experience in a similar Data Analyst role
  • Ability to translate, merge, cleans up and maps data into conceptual, logical and physical data models
  • Identifies, develops, and documents data standardization, data enrichment operations, validations, data security requirements, and data exception handling processes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Detail oriented
  • Pragmatic, agile and confident in approach to complex business problems
  • Strong team player
  • QL Management and reporting services
  • Ability to work independently and to take initiative to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Demonstrating a pro-active mind-set towards a distinctive customer experience
  • Contribute to successful project completion by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigating strategies
