About the role
Our Underwriting & Pricing (UW&P) function, based at our Head Office in Stratford-Upon-Avon, is critical to the success of the business. As part of recent and ongoing strategic programmes, there has been a substantial investment in the people, process and technology to deliver a step change in Underwriting performance and Pricing agility.
Recognising the central role of data and analytics in so much of this transformation, the UW&P Data Team was formed to provide the required expertise and responsiveness from within the department. Having established some firm foundations over the last few years, the team now needs to consolidate in order to deliver on an exciting and demanding vision of data driven enablement within this data hungry part of the business.
As a Data Analyst, your responsibilities include:
Extracting and transforming data to support complex analyses- Advise and support stakeholders by proactively investigating data, identifying opportunities and threats to strategies
- Help design and develop data driven models to provide analysis and forecasts to help present conclusions and recommendations to internal stakeholders
- Develop and deliver training and communications for MI/analytical users to ensure they’re able to use them effectively
We understand how important a positive work-life balance is to you, so we offer great facilities when you are in an office environment, and support to work up to 80% of your hours from home. The role requires one day a week in the Stratford-upon-Avon Head Office.
About you
We are seeking an enthusiastic and versatile candidate with recent UK experience of running multiple streams of work simultaneously and knowledge of data warehousing and MI techniques. You will be able to demonstrate an advanced competency level using spreadsheets and have experience establishing effective and influential relationships with stakeholders. You will have some experience using SQL, Power BI and/or other analytics tools. It would be highly desirable to have experience within either financial services or insurance industries. To be successful, you will also have:
Strong communication skills- Relevant degree, ACII qualification or other equivalent professional qualification (desirable)
- Strength in numeracy, analysis and problem solving
- Impeccable attention to detail
