Senior Data Analyst - Dalio Center for Health Justice
NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a Senior Data Analyst with a problem-solving mindset to join our team. As a Senior Data Analyst within the Quality Analytics team, you will be part of a community of developers and analysts who work collaboratively to meet the reporting and analytics needs of the Dalio Center for Health Justice. The Dalio Center for Health Justice aims to understand and address the root causes of health inequities with the goal of setting a new standard of health justice for the communities NYP serves. You will work on impactful projects including designing enterprise data models that serve as the foundation for reporting content, building dashboards and data visualizations, and creating tools and processes that help democratize data definitions and best practices.
Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, passionate about using data to solve problems in healthcare, and able to think creatively and plan strategically. The analyst should be invested in the mission of improving health equity and should have a strong interest in data technologies used to accomplish that mission. Innovative thinking and a willingness to learn and adopt new technology will be crucial to success in this role.
This position is based out of our corporate office in Midtown Manhattan and will be full time Monday-Friday during normal business hours. Opportunities for hybrid work are available.
Essential Job Duties
- Works with various stakeholders to understand project goals and requirements.
- Creates and maintains accurate documentation for data sources and reports
- Develops analytics products and solutions (such as self-service analytics, dashboards, interactive reports) and their continuous maintenance; provides problem solving assistance to end users
- Works to improve data quality wherever possible; Adheres to corporate standards for performance metrics, data collection, data integrity, query design, and reporting format to ensure high quality, meaningful analytic output
- This position works closely with clinical and business users and assists a multi-disciplinary team in the design, implementation, optimization, change management, and issue resolution related to a number of reporting and analytical products
Preferred Criteria:
- Experience with Epic data models or other clinical, financial, or operational healthcare data
- Strong understanding of data design, architecture, relational databases and data modeling
- Proficiency with SQL, on either Microsoft or Oracle platforms
- Ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Work experience with SQL or other relational database structures
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
- Experience independently leading analytics projects
Required Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of previous work related experience
- Epic Module Certification or obtained within twelve (12) months of employment
- Clear demonstration of technical, analytical, organizational, problem solving and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a positive, customer centric attitude
