The Organisation:

McPherson Limited is a family owned bulk spirits logistics specialist based in the whisky heartland of Speyside and operating throughout the UK

Our core business caters for every aspect of the production side of spirit supply ranging from the transportation of grain, malt and yeast to the movement of bulk spirit from distilleries to warehouses and all the way onto its final destination at bottling and packaging plants. We employ over 400 members of staff, operate a fleet of over 200 trucks and have a customer base that includes a broad coverage of the major spirits producers in Scotland.

Job Purpose:

We are seeking to appoint a Graduate Data Analyst to assist with collection and analysis of operational performance data. The primary role is to identify trends and provide our management and clients with valuable information that they can use to improve operational and businesses practices. The main duties include identifying, gathering and analysing data and then making their insights accessible to the company through easy-to-understand graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualisation software such as Power BI/Tableau.

Responsibilities:

· Talking to key management to understand what data and KPIs are important to the business and our customers.

· Identify what data already exists within the organisation and where there are gaps in the data being collected.

· Assess the quality of the data being produced and work with the business to create the best available data.

· Implement procedures to gather all required data.

· Use tools and techniques to visualise data in easy-to-understand formats such as diagrams and graphs for both periodic and ad hoc reports.

· Highlight areas where operational and business practices can be improved.

· Assist key account managers to compile regular reports on business performance.

Key skills required:

· Proficient in using Power BI/Tableau and Excel.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work with large, complex data sets.

· Proficiency in statistical analysis and data modelling.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills.

· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Salary: From £25,000.00 per year
