Black Diamond Group’s Talent Development & Sustainability team has a full-time position for a Business & Data Analyst in our Calgary, Alberta office.
Based out of our Calgary Head Office and reporting to the Vice President Safety, Talent Development & Sustainability you will support the portfolios data collection processes impacting sustainability initiatives and programs. You will coordinate the data collection, analysis, and report development process to facilitate transparent and robust internal and external sustainability communications. As well this position will support our Talent Development initiatives through their experience with data collection and processing skills.
Responsibilities
· Support preparation of the annual sustainability report and supporting material including:
· Preparing information for supporting disclosures including PowerPoint presentations, website update, social media campaign
· Coordinate preparation of supporting material including regional or business unit summaries and topic-specific reports.
· Develop and maintain project checklists to keep the annual reporting process on schedule.
· Collaborate and engage with Black Diamond functional groups, industry associations, vendors, customers and ESG ratings organizations to support delivery and communication of Black Diamonds sustainability initiatives.
· Coordinate and provide support to corporate teams’ data collection process including working with operations and business unit controller groups.
· Support continual improvement through evaluation of reporting best practices, industry sector benchmarking, gap assessments and research of sustainability practices, ESG disclosures and evolving reporting standards and practice.
· Provide internal guidance, reporting dashboards, tracking, and reporting of ESG metrics and performance against sustainability targets and objectives throughout Black Diamond.
· Identify opportunities and implement tools to increase the efficiency, quality and consistency of Black Diamonds data collection processes and reporting tools.
· Perform template or process updates, coordinate data and variance analysis at the corporate level.
· Draft client reports, presentations, and responses to ESG related questions.
· Assess analysts’ and ESG rating agencies opinions on Black Diamond ESG performance and reporting; identify areas for improvement.
· Follow the Sustainability leadership direction in performing activities to broaden the Black Diamond brand both internally and externally.
· Perform work in an ethical and professional manner.
· Support corporate sustainability disclosure and assurance requirements.
· Other duties, initiatives and projects may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
· Relevant post-secondary education is required with a bachelor’s degree in Sustainability Management or related field preferred.
· Two (2) years' experience focused on Sustainability and ESG initiatives.
· In depth knowledge and understanding of the principals involved in sustainability reporting.
· Knowledge of GRI, SASB, TCFD, and CDP would be an asset.
· Attention to detail and proven ability to audit large quantities of data for accuracy and trends.
· Strong computer skills with proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel
· Ability to build and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
· Have above-average interpersonal and written verbal communication skills.
· Possess good problem-solving skills through the exercise of good judgment.
· Passionate about sustainability with a curiosity to expand knowledge.
· Have the ability to maintain confidentiality in all personnel and Black Diamond business matters.
· Self-starter and ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
