Your role at a glance
This role will see you support the lead analyst in sourcing, importing, modelling, and reporting on data from multiple sources, providing cost transparency and insights to the wider business areas which involved working in collaboration with IT and finance professionals at all levels across the organisation.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting in the delivery of cost transparency and data insights of technology cost and services by ensuring that data feeds are managed on a timely basis with high degrees of consistency and data integrity.
- Importing and interpreting data from multiple systems of record such as General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Service Now, Vendors and Asset Management looking for consistency and automation to ensure accurate and timely availability of financial and IT reporting to inform decision making
- Developing and delivering data insights and recommendations by creating, adapting and maintaining dashboards, reports and recommendations using the data and tools at your disposal to support cost optimisation.
- Providing daily support activities acting as a point of contact to the business and working with the wider team, providing monthly data loading and validation to ensure data quality
- Delivering insight on IT Total Cost of Ownership, financial metrics, and the effectiveness of cost transparency initiatives using the Apptio tool to ensure that there is a clear understanding of the cost of services and technologies, what is driving those costs, and how those costs change over time.
What we're looking for
- Experience of the Apptio platform or Technology Business Management an advantage but not essential
- Developing models using Excel and/or Power BI modelling and data transformation
- Experience of IT services and financial management processes and practices such as budgeting, cost allocations, capital & operating expense handling, program portfolio management, and application/infrastructure support.
- Experience of working in technical environments and knowledge of public cloud beneficial.
- Experience of using backlog management tools such as Jira or TFS.
- Knowledge and application of relational databases.
- Strong skills and experience in formulaic logic such as MS Excel if statements, vlookup, pivot tables, macros, etc.
- Previous experience working with scripting, report building, etc, advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills for financial modelling and analysis.
