We are looking for a Programme Director, to lead IIRIS’s Program Management function.


Towards the end of 2021, we announced our intention to divest our Intelligence businesses and to put the full focus of the Group on the two markets where we have scale leadership positions: B2B Markets and Academic Markets. On 1 June 2022, we completed the first of these divestments, with the sale of Pharma Intelligence for £1.9bn.


Job Description


The Reference Data Analyst will create and update standardized IIRIS reference data, metrics and business terms, documenting them and educating IIRIS Partners on usage, while ensuring that efficient processes, procedures, and workflows are in place to enable a proper data taxonomy and ontology management in data being ingested into IIRIS.


Reporting to the Data Governance Manager, you will develop and administer:

  • IIRIS Reference data standardized list
  • IIRIS Reference data/Metadata management capabilities including data dictionary and glossary content
  • IIRIS Reference Data Standardization processes that are intended to manage the accuracy and integrity of data ingested into IIRIS
  • Monitoring Conformance of IIRIS ingested data to IIRIS Standards and Compliance of IIRIS projects to the standardized Reference data list.


Information and Data Management

  • Support the development of reference data/metadata capabilities including joining IIRIS teams to develop functionality and processes that meet the needs of all users and stakeholders
  • Support the development and maintenance of consistent reference data, master data definitions and structures across applicable systems
  • Implement the accurate implementation of IIRIS Reference data values to integrated data fields and values to maintain data integrity and accuracy
  • Create and update data dictionary content to ensure accuracy, relevancy, and timeliness and that it is clear and easily consumable by all end users
  • Support capture and articulation of business KPI metrics and terms in a data glossary and their implementation in business processes
  • Help to enable the capture of the data model, data flows and lineage within any data Catalog Tool IIRIS uses and support the governance and implementation of changes
  • Manage ticketed operational tasks for reference data and adhoc requests as required
  • Conduct reference data quality investigations to resolve any issues or to make enhancements
  • Support the development of relevant MDM system and Match Rules Logic, including for new markets or portfolio to be integrated to IIRIS
  • Facilitate the application of reference data rules in the updates of the IIRIS Customer Data Program CDP.

Process and Procedure Management

  • Support the definition, development and update processes and procedures that support reference data management, the data model and the Metadata hub via TAMR and other Ref data tools
  • Develop and update operating procedures and documentation, reflecting current policies and data standards
  • Facilitate data stewardship processes conducted by the IIRIS Partners for improved adoption and usage of the IIRIS Standardised Reference data values.

Service Delivery

  • Ensure the IIRIS Reference data support provided to IIRIS business partners is efficient, effective and meets the needs of business users
  • Oversee and prioritise the workload of any third-party resources supporting the team
  • Contribute to relevant meetings and provide subject matter expertise on reference data
  • Conduct or assist in the delivery of training in the use of data, particularly reference data and the use of data dictionary and glossary capabilities

Qualifications


Essential

  • Proven experience as a Business Data Analyst, Reference Data Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance frameworks, and data quality concepts.
  • Proficient in data analysis techniques, including data profiling, data mapping, and data validation.
  • Experience with reference data management tools and technologies.
  • Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and data querying.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment

Desirable

  • Relevant knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to reference data management is a plus.
  • Experience in the management and population of data dictionary content
  • Experience in Reference data management (e.g. Informa’s “List Of Values”)
  • Exposure to single customer views and the associated processes e.g. matching and survivorship
  • Experience with data glossaries and defining metrics and terms for business KPI’s
  • Experience of data migration and testing (e.g. User Acceptance Testing) activities
  • Experience with supporting or managing data processes e.g. registration, validation and unsubscribe
  • Experience in conducting data analysis, administration and stewardship
  • Experienced in working via a ticketed approach and within an SLA or deadline focused environment
  • Knowledge of TAMR and Redshift data platforms and of Eloqua, Adobe Experience Manager and Salesforce (or similar toolsets)
