The Halton Regional Police is a progressive Service that is stepping forward as a leader in the emerging field of police analytics. We are seeking a Data Analyst (Temporary Full Time – up to 12 months) with experience in statistics, business analysis, and SQL. You will be playing a critical role as we help to advance the discipline of data-driven law enforcement analysis. This is a rewarding position for an ambitious analyst with excellent problem-solving skills.
Skills and Requirements:
- University undergraduate degree in an analytical discipline such as Math, Economics, Computer Science, Physics or Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of progressive related analytical experience
- Real-world experience with writing queries in SQL and creating reports/dashboards in PowerBI or coding web-based data tools in PHP/Javascript.
- Demonstrated ability in SQL/ Microsoft SQL Server, Excel and Excel Visual Basics for Application (VBA), and PowerBI is required.
Note: The successful applicant will need to pass a background check to the satisfaction of the Service which will include reference checks with previous employers, verification of educational achievements, and a criminal background screen.
Core Working Hours: 35 hours per week: Monday - Friday
Location: This position is based out of our Oakville Headquarters facility which is conveniently located at the QEW and North Service Road West.
Compensation: The hourly rate of pay is $49.86 to 56.01 per hour with 6% in lieu of benefits and 4% vacation pay.
