Are you a Data Analyst interested in working for a not-for-profit organisation that is focused on improving people’s access to health and wellbeing support? Our continued growth means we are now looking for someone who will enjoy using their data analysis and storytelling abilities to help us identify and expand into new areas.

As the ‘data champion’ for our organisation, what really matters is your ability to see the value in the information you provide and to inspire others to make use of it. You will shape how we manage, understand and value our data and help us to deepen engagement with our users and stakeholders.

Working as part of our small, friendly team, you will analyse, understand and interpret local and national datasets, ensuring the data you produce is accurate, relevant, timely, appropriate and precise.

This role will entail a significant amount of unsupervised working and the use of initiative. There is scope for working from home but the post holder will be required to attend meetings and work from our office in Saffron Walden, Essex on a regular basis.

About Frontline Referrals Limited

‘Frontline’ is a user-friendly, secure website that helps professionals and the public to quickly find details of local health and wellbeing services and to contact services through call back and referral options.

  • At a local level it is a ‘living’ library and shop window of community support and wellbeing services across a district
  • It enables professionals and members of the public to signpost and securely refer into services
  • Ensuring that no referrals are missed, Frontline provides a real-time feedback loop on referrals made.

‘Frontline’ was developed by Uttlesford Citizens Advice in conjunction with other local organisations. From its roots in Uttlesford, the service now covers the whole of West Essex, plus East Herts and Northumberland.

Job Description and Person Specification

Key work areas and tasks:

  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Creation and delivery of both written and Powerpoint reports, identifying themes and trends within datasets and creating relevant charts and commentary to illustrate the findings
  • Key point of contact for any management reporting related queries.
  • During busy periods, you may be asked to help by answering to the Frontline telephone number, e.g. requests and queries from service users

About you

  • Data-literate – comfortable working with data and drawing conclusions from what the data tells us
  • Able to communicate complex data detail in a simple way to share with our users and stakeholders
  • Strong IT skills – i.e confident/experienced in using Word, Excel and Powerpoint and comfortable learning new systems
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Effective communicator and collaborative in approach
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Passionate about building excellence through delivering a service we can be proud of
  • Understands and is committed to the aims and principles of Frontline and the wider principles of Citizens Advice

It would be excellent if you:

  • Have a background in statistics/ mathematics or have previously worked in a data analyst role
  • Have experience working with ESRI Geographic Information Systems, (an advantage but not essential).
  • Are open to feedback and always looking for ways to improve your own performance
  • Have strong problem solving and root cause identification skills
