Role Summary
This is a data analytics and reporting role supporting the Middle Office and reconciliations functions within the Markets Operations organization, providing daily support to the Global Markets Businesses trading Over the Counter (OTC) derivative transactions. This newly formed team helps to oversee the completeness of bookings, postings and flows across the trading desks and Central Counterparty (CCP) clearing Houses. The team is critical in completing daily reconciliations to ensure balances tie out and there are no breaks across our processes and flows across the lifecycle of the trade.
As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large and complex datasets, as well as developing data visualizations to support the reconciliation process. You will be responsible for creating and presenting meaningful MIS and metrics for Senior Management and other stakeholders and work closely with the operations team to identify and resolve discrepancies and ensure that all trades are reconciled accurately and timely.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze large and complex datasets using Microsoft tools such as Excel, Access, and SQL Server.
- Develop and maintain data models to support the reconciliation process.
- Design and create interactive data visualizations using Power BI to identify trends and outliers.
- Collaborate with operations team to investigate and resolve discrepancies in trade data.
- Communicate findings and insights to senior stakeholders through MIS and reports.
- Develop and maintain documentation on data sources, data models, and analysis results.
- Participate in project meetings and provide data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Continuously improve data collection, analysis, and visualization processes.
Eligibility Requirements
- Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst or similar role, preferably in a financial institution.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, and SQL Server. Proficiency in Power BI and data visualization techniques.
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
- Experience in derivatives operations, trade reconciliation, or related fields is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks).
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
