Data Analyst
We are currently looking to recruit an ambitious and motivated Data Analyst to work within our Network Analyst Team. The team covers operational reporting for all DPD, DPD Local and Offshore networks, providing support for over 100 final mile delivery locations. Additionally, the role involves working alongside central departments who assist the networks such as security and owner driver departments.
You will gain a strong understanding of all KPI’s within your remit including a broad business knowledge of processes and procedures, across many departments who work with our delivery networks.
Key Tasks/Areas of Responsibility
- Work with other analysts within the department to ensure that you can cover their routine tasks and ensure that others can cover your routine tasks.
- Provide accurate and trustworthy data supporting the business needs and objectives.
- Work through analytical best practice to establish that requests and hypotheses given are valid and that the output meets the stakeholder’s needs.
- Consistently meet deadlines and turn around work quickly as required, without compromising accuracy.
- Complete routine and ad-hoc analytical tasks, such as report building and data analysis within your team.Complete ad hoc requests that relate to your area of analytics.
- Working with management to highlight and implement areas for improvement and develop new innovative solutions.
- Producing information, reports and summaries in a clear and concise manner.
- Working in a fast-moving environment whilst delivering outstanding service to our depots and customers, ensuring rapid resolution of problems, communicating outcomes and maintaining the expected high standards.
- Have good knowledge of the areas which you work in and a desire to increase your knowledge of your area of the business and its relationship to other areas.
- Support the business during peak periods with analytical tasks required to measure performance and support decision making and the operation.
- Understand the systems that are used as part of your role.
- Follow the company best practice for organisation, naming and documentation of data.
- Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance in line with the company's policies and procedures within your own and your team's work.
- Keep data secure and only shared with correct roles.
- Demonstrate the DPD Values.
- Treat everyone fairly and in an inclusive manner.
What we are looking for;
- 2 years + experience of working within a data analytics environment or educated to a degree level in a Mathematics or Computer Science related discipline.
- Excellent numerical skills and able to solve problems independently.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with a range of stakeholders.
- Able to work as part of a team and independently as required.
- Ability to take complex problems and present in an accessible engaging way for a non-analytical audience
- Data curious, aware of how to use data effectively and interest in new and emerging trends in data analytics.
- Advanced working knowledge of spreadsheets.
- Able to work with large and complex dataset.
- In addition to being able to analyse data, it is essential that you are able to interpret, communicate and explain its significance to a varied audience.
- Have demonstrable skills in the use of Google Suite(Google Sheets, Google Docs) and Google Data studio or other Power BI type of system.
- Programming knowledge of App Script(Javascript), SQL and GCP knowledge desirable.
- Demonstrate high levels of resilience and self motivation.

- A Full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role.
