Job description
Assessment Data Analyst & Developer - Please note applications without a cover letter will not be considered.
Background
We (Doublestruck) are further extending our use of our data for internal purposes and as part of a broader offering of services to our clients in the education community. In order to do this we need an experienced data analyst who, vitally, must also have first-hand experience of working in educational assessment, especially the data that both informs assessment development and that results from its use. As part of our strategy in the coming years, we intend to build on our existing customer-facing reporting systems to provide the next generation of actionable diagnostics for use by students, teachers, and all levels of leadership in schools and across school trusts. We are also continuing to develop tests for the primary sector, and our data and analyses will be used to ensure that we deliver quality assessments for use seasonally across years 1 - 6.
Core role
The data we hold is of two basic types: product and customer data, including customer subscriptions and their usage of our products via our online platforms of Exampro and Testbase; and assessment- related data made up of metadata about our assessments and marking data from students and teachers who have used our assessment products. This role is intended to support the organisations’ utilisation of these data for internal and external customers and stakeholders. This will require working with various teams across the organisation to establish data needs, ensure data quality, and provide analyses and insights in a timely manner and appropriate formats such as spreadsheets, written documents, and live presentations, etc.
The role will also require writing analytical code for one-off and repeated analyses, and the maintenance and extension of existing code. You will need to work with the database team to discuss database architecture, metadata schemas, and the development and deployment of a new data warehouse. You will also work with AQA colleagues to collaborate on data-related matters, keeping an awareness of their data strategies and usage, and working on mutually beneficial sharing of assessment-related data, data schemas, etc.

*Flexibility exists around core hours 10.30-16.00 with frequent, regular working from home
