Job description

Deen Alvi is a family run accountancy practice. We are recruiting for a candidate to cover the role of Data Analyst with responsibility to report investment returns to clients. The selected candidate will work in a middle office role, closely with our Finance manager.

The Role

The selected candidate will work in a mid-back-office position and will:

· Regularly perform cash and valuation reconciliations between the firm’s reporting/accounting software and the bank accounts of the clients' various private banks

· Input transactions into the firm’s software to ensure it is in line with custodian accounts.

· Carry out performance analysis and checks, spot and explain performance discrepancies between portfolios (performance contribution analysis)

· Audit client bank statements and the fees charged to clients by third-party Private Banks

· Support the senior members in all other administrative support tasks.

Skills Required

CORE SKILLS

Relevant degree and/or professional qualifications

Mathematically adept with outstanding numerical skills and the ability to perform mental calculations quickly and correctly.

Master Microsoft Excel to the highest industry standards to prepare, format, audit, automate spreadsheets and present data concisely and effectively (inclusive of writing macros)

5 years minimum of work experience required.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

Highly computer literate, with knowledge of prevailing industry software

Attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies/anomalies.

Extreme accuracy in data inputting (accounting style)

High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas, with an entrepreneurial attitude

Understanding of financial markets and basic investment principles and products

Able to cope with periods of pressure and under time constraints without compromising quality of work.

Adhere to service standards and procedures.

Outstanding interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills
