Data Analyst
Glasgow
As a Barclays Data Analyst, you will be joining Chief Data Office (CDO), which is responsible for defining Barclays' data and records management strategy, policy and standards and governing a pipeline of data usage initiatives across the business. You will be working with a team of data partners and analysts, and your role will be involved in the delivery of an evolving capability within the CDO focused on meeting data quality and control standards across multiple areas of business.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances. What will you be doing?
• Capturing and documenting subject matter knowledge about how data flows operate and where controls exist
- Identifying where controls don’t exist, or are found to be ineffective, log and agree remediation of control gaps
- Maintaining and enhancing data lineage and related information in CDO mandated tools such as Barclays Data Portal
- Supporting on data lineage interlock with other CDO BUs/ Functions
- Facilitating successful completion of committed planning/ deliverables/ milestones associated and managing stakeholder expectations for all execution activities
- Ensuring adherence to Group Data Management Standards, Attestation, Re-certification, and Assurance processes
- Supportting, as required, in analysing the root cause and solution options linked to major and critical data issues
• Financial Services experience
- Solid analytical and literacy ability
- Awareness and a working knowledge of governance frameworks, standards, and policies
- Knowledge a expertise using data analysis and reporting/ visualisation packages e.g., SQL, Tableau, Qlik
• Competent in Data Management e.g., Data Quality, Data Lineage, Metadata management etc.
- Corporate or Investment banking experience
- Experience in a Risk and Controls or issue resolution environment
