The Role: Data Analyst
Purpose: The Data Analyst is responsible for turning large and complex data sets into meaningful insights that drive business decisions. The role requires a combination of technical and communication skills to effectively analyse, interpret and visualise data to uncover insights and support business decision-making.
Accountabilities:
Reporting to the Data Visualisation and Analytics lead the data Analyst will form an important part of the Data, Integration & Analytics team. You will:
- Collect and analyse large and complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business decisions.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and other data visualisation tools to provide stakeholders with easy-to-understand insights.
- the management of Power BI assets, including reports, dashboards, workspaces, and the underlying datasets that are used in the reports and dahsboard
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide solutions to support their use cases.
- Develop and maintain predictive models to support forecasting and decision-making.
- Conduct ad-hoc data analysis to support specific business initiatives and projects.
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and trends in the data analytics field and recommend improvements to ABPs data analysis processes.
- Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, using both written and verbal communication.
Essential
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, Tableau, and PowerBI.
- Experience with data processing technologies such as Apache Spark and Apache Flink.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and experience with programming languages such as Python, R, and SAS.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for staying up-to-date with new technologies and trends in the data analytics field.
- Willingness to travel around the Group as required for specific projects and generally.
Ideal
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a data analysis role.
- Strong client facing / engagement experience
- Experience of working in Shipping and Cargo handling, Oil and Gas and Speciality Trade Contract Handling is a preference
Desirable
- Experience of working in ABP or similar industry.
