Job summary
Perform is recruiting actors who can sing and dance to teach drama, dance and singing to children aged 4-12 years old. The role is flexible and can be full or part time depending on the candidate's availablilty.
Candidate requirements
- Candidates must be a performing arts graduate.
- Be able to act, sing and dance well (triple threat).
- Love working with children.
- Passionate about helping children develop through the performing arts.
Candidate duties
Candidates will be teaching a curriculum of drama, dance and singing in a combination of after school classes, weekend workshops and Theatre in Education style sessions in Primary Schools. Full training and lesson plan resources are provided.
Benefits and Salary
- Basic rate of teaching is £26.53 per hour.
- Producer teaching rate is £31.83 per hour (plus commission).
- Flexible around acting work committments.
About Perform
Perform was launched in 2000 as a new kind of drama school – one that has child development at its very heart.
The founders, Will Barnett and Lucy Quick, both had a passion for the performing arts and wanted to create a unique organisation to help build children’s self-esteem and life skills.
Perform now runs classes at over 300 locations employing over 250 actors and teaching over 8000 children in locations ranging in London, Bristol, Nottingham, Kent, Essex, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxford, Cambridge, Surrey, West Sussex, Hampshire and Kent.
