Introduction
We are currently looking for a Daily Resource Planner to join our Resource Control Department here at our Headquarters at Doncaster Lakeside. This roll will be responsible for converting the customer demand/order into a workable efficient resource plan which is mutually beneficial to both customer and DB Cargo alike.
This position also offers hybrid working from the successful candidates residence and our Doncaster office. There will be a requirement to be in the office full time during training and then 2/3 days a week in the office.
Here is a list of the day to day responsibilities the successful candidate will be actioning:
Identification, communication, and resolution of emerging resource demand and availability conflicts.
Update and maintain the system that captures the route knowledge of DBC’s traincrew.
Production and distribution of cost effective daily rosters.
Communication with front line staff including daily notifications to take duty, roster changes, release from duty, leave arrangements etc.
Ensure Traincrew diagrams and rosters are compliant with Traincrew terms and conditions.
Amendment/creation of traincrew diagrams where required.
Fixing roster stages to appropriate stage.
Management of traincrew vacancies working in cooperation with area management and train running control in the identification and resolution of resource cover.
Daily point of contact for resource queries.
Acceptance/rejection of late notice recovery/additional services in line with resource availability.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a candidate who can work well within a team and able to and able to be self-motivate to carry out tasks as well as the ability to adapt to changes in processes.
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential as an integral part of this role is revisiting the roster to maximise coverage for the entire country whilst adhering to all traincrew T&Cs.
Due to the nature of the position it is essential that the successful candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to articulate information in a clear and professional way to inform not only colleagues but also the public.
The successful candidates will have excellent IT skills and able to navigate a variety of different programmes including Microsoft Word and Excel.
The position works to deadlines both set internally and external sources that need to be adhered to, therefore the successful candidate needs to be able to work efficiently and effectively to meet these deadlines.
It would be desirable for the successful candidate to have excellent knowledge of railway geography however this is not essential.
It would also be desirable for the successful candidate to have experience in resource planning in the railway as well as traincrew diagramming however this is not essential.
In return we are offering a starting salary of £30,902 per annum raising to £32,305 once competent in the role.
The successful candidate will work on a 2 shift basis and receive an additional £1,699 per annum for this. It is important to note that some of these shifts will fall on a Saturday.
