Varfell Farms is the worlds largest grower and packer of daffodils in the world, based in Cornwall we grow on approximately 3500 acres across varied sites in the area.

We process 500 million stems annually and it isn’t possible to harvest daffodils with machinery. Therefore, each daffodil stem is handpicked and we need you to help us with this!

We aim to offer the best that seasonal employment can provide with high standards of work and living accommodation. After the daffodil season onward employment opportunities are available with our sister company Pro Force Ltd.

Job description

We are not going to lie, the job can be tough but it can also be really rewarding.

The job can be physically demanding, working outdoors in open fields all day in all weathers, the role involves bending, walking often on uneven ground, manual handling lifting and carrying crates.

You will be paid a minimum of £10.10 per hour with the opportunity to earn considerably more, depending on how much you pick.

  • January to April 2023 (weather and crop dependent)
  • Working 6 days per week, 48 hours +
  • Flexible shift patterns available
  • Full training provided
  • Free transport from farm to fields
  • PPE, Waterproofs and wellingtons are provided but warm clothing and boots are essential.
  • Accommodation available for the duration of employment where necessary.

Workers that choose to live onsite, will stay in self-contained static caravans, sharing with up to 6 people for a cost of no more than £60.90 per person per week, including laundry, gas, water, electric and wifi (subject to reasonable use). All units have a bathroom, living area, kitchen and bedrooms.

You’ll need to bring your own bedding, towels and kitchen equipment, all of these items are also available from our dedicated onsite shop along with everyday groceries.

Transport from the farm to fields is provided free of charge. If you live off site you will be responsible for your own travel arrangements to the farm.

Pay is weekly in arrears and trips to major supermarkets are organised free of charge at least once a week if required.
