Accounts Assistant
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Temporary - 3 Months Fixed Term
Salary: £20,577 per annum
Location: Hybrid Working
The Society is recruiting for an Accounts Assistant on a 3 month fixed term contract to join our Finance and Accounting Team at the West Brom. The job holder will provide administrative support to the accounting control team. Provide support to the branch network and contact centre relating to any customer queries regarding the Incoming Bacs, Faster Payment, CHAPS files and Prepare daily and monthly reconciliations to agreed timescales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile, investigate and correct the Bacs and Faster Payment rejections daily.
- Process Daily CHAPS files and apply payments onto investment and mortgage accounts.
- Daily operational use of Barclays, HSBC and Citibank.
- Prepare accurate accounting records for Society and subsidiaries adhering to audit regulations and guidelines
- Process unpaid cheques requests.
- Completing various administrative tasks such as action and distribute post to the Finance team.
- Deliver a good level of customer service when answering incoming calls regarding payments, cheques or branch cash delivery/collection and general queries.
Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills due to the varying work volume.
- Proficiency in Microsoft excel and word.
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Conscientious and strong attention to detail.
- Possess excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of UFSS investment products and screens.
