About Dadzclub:
Exploring all things dad, the highs and the lows, Dadzclub is building a supportive community of like minded fathers both online and through our weekly in person social meet ups.
Dadzclub seeks to bring together father figures and their children through our engaging, creative, and playful weekend groups aimed at providing a friendly environment where dads can chat with other dads whilst spending quality time with their children.
Dadzclub actively works alongside other organisations to improve access to services for fathers, raise awareness of health and parenting issues affecting men, redefining gender stereotypes, promoting discussions around allyship and gender equity.
The role:
- Primarily based within the Family Hubs, develop a varied programme of activities, events and workshops for Dadzclub including:
- A weekly evening Dadzclub support service for parents with older children
- Weekend Dadzclub support service for parents and their children aged 0-9 with a focus on early years
- Co-facilitate a monthly evening perinatal mental health peer support group for dads
- Support and line manage a part time Dadzclub Project Worker
- Liaise with the wider Dadzclub team
- Attend professionals meetings, events and networking opportunities
- Recruit and train volunteers to support the activities of Dadzclub
- Nurturing an online supportive peer network for parents that both engages and educates
- Empower parents to talk to support agencies, employers and education settings; talk about their future, their current problems, be on their side
- Promote the importance of perinatal mental health and infant and family attachment
You need to:
- Be passionate about parenting and be knowledgeable of widely accepted best parental practice
- Have at least one years relevant experience working with families and/or children and young people
- Have experience of working with support services, community organisations or groups and have an understanding of the available local support on offer to families
- Be able to identify the needs of an individual child/family and foster development, independence, self esteem and self reliance
- Have a natural flair of confidence and a good communicator with both adults and children
- Be creative and able to plan engaging activities for adults and children of all ages
- Prove ability to work on own initiative, work well under pressure, and effectively as part of a team
- Work collaboratively alongside TPN colleagues to deliver high quality, consistent and reliable support for families using our services
- Follow TPN feedback, monitoring and evaluation processes to regularly gather, sort and present data and evidence to improve service delivery
- Assist the fundraising manager with completing bids/applications and provide feedback to funders
- Possess a passion for Southampton and the diverse communities, organisations and events that make up the population
- Enjoy developing positive working relationships with the local community, the local authority, charity and third sector organisations in order to create a network of support for families
- Demonstrate excellent social media skills
- Understand the importance of safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection, and follow TPN policies and procedures
- Manage budgets, track spending, report finances to Finance Manager
- Represent Dadzclub and The Parenting Network at public events throughout the year
- Have excellent administration and interpersonal skills
- Possess excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Provide ad hoc support to other TPN projects as required
- Any other duty as required by the line manager commensurate with the post
- Be available to work Saturday mornings and occasional evenings
- Willingness to travel to various locations

This role will involve safeguarding children and will require the candidate to under go an advanced DBS check before a formal offer of employment is made.
