What you could be doing
You will typically work on a range or projects that vary over time. for example:
Analysing and advising MOD about the cyber risks for a new military capability.
Applying ‘secure by design’ principles to a complex military system.
Working with a national customer to develop an organisation wide approach to cyber security
Understanding how to address the cyber risks for a system employing artificial intelligence
Analysing a military platform to identify cyber vulnerabilities
Assessing how identified cyber risks may affect operational mission or business outcomes
Understanding how to apply an understanding of the threat to specific customer contexts
Analysing a system design and recommending security controls
Configuring a cloud based implementation to meet security requirements
Auditing a customer’s environment against defined security standards
Working with occupational psychologists to understand the socio-technical aspects of a cyber problem
Reverse engineering attacks to understand how they work
Proposing more effective ways to defend systems or organisations from cyber threats

QinetiQ is a leading supporter of CyberFirst. We recruit graduates and Year in Industry students into cyber security mainly via CyberFirst, and cyber apprentices from schools and colleges in the Malvern area.

Please note that many roles in QinetiQ are subject to national security vetting. Applicants that already hold the appropriate level of vetting may be able to transfer it upon appointment, subject to approval. A number of roles are also subject to restrictions on access to information that mean factors such as nationality, previous nationalities held and the country in which you were born may have an effect on the roles that you can be employed in.
