Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for a Cyber Security Apprentice with Smart Currency Exchange, a foreign exchange brokerage based in Hammersmith, London.
Job Description:
We are looking for a Cyber security apprentice to join us in enhancing our cyber security focus and its application throughout the group, working closely with the business and IT Infrastructure teams.
Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
The broad purpose of the opportunity is to provide first line cyber security support. This requires individuals to monitor and detect potential security threats and escalate as necessary and to support secure and uninterrupted business operations of our businesses through the implementation of cyber security mechanisms and the application of cyber security procedures and controls. To contribute to the delivery of a security culture across our businesses, understanding vulnerabilities and threats and supporting the development of an organisation’s cyber security maturity. To apply procedures and controls to maintain security and control of our businesses, and process security requests ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability of information stored digitally.
Qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)
Skills Required:
- IT literate having studied equivalent to A Levels in a Technical subject
- Exposure to IT, especially Cyber Security will be a huge advantage
Personal qualities:
- Eager for a career in Cyber Security
- Very strong attention to detail
- Able to engage with internal customers and build rapport
- A good listener and you can put feedback received into practice
- Resilient with a drive to succeed
- Have the ability to influence people taking people on the journey with you

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 4 Cyber Security Technologist, with training in how to:
- Discover potential vulnerabilities, threats and hazards in your systems, services and processes.
- Develop security designs and configure, deploy and use appropriate cyber security technology to protect your business.
- Identify, analyse and develop security cases to defend against potential threats.
- Write program code or scripts to meet a given design requirement that improves your cyber security.
- Understand latest attack techniques and recommend ways to defend against them.
