About The Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Cyber Security Analyst to join our team at Sunbelt Rentals UK. It’s our vision to own the future of rentals and our mission to deliver a world-class experience. As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a key role in monitoring for and responding to security incidents as well as managing vulnerabilities and identifying threats. You will work closely with other teams across the IT department and be mentored by more senior analysts on the IT Security Team, providing you with a great opportunity to gain experience and develop your skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong work-ethic and already have a good grasp of the fundamentals of computer science, networking and cyber security.
This is a junior role on the IT Security Team
- Monitor SIEM and other security tools to identify security incidents.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of reported security incidents.
- Handle tickets that have been escalated from the helpdesk and support providers.
- Collaborate with other Teams to identify and remediate security issues.
- Perform daily and weekly checks on all security tools.
- Perform vulnerability assessments supporting the senior analysts.
- Perform threat hunting supporting the senior analysts.
- Stay up to date with the latest security technologies, vulnerabilities, threats and trends.
- Participate in security incident response exercises and training.
- Assist with the continuous improvement of policies and processes and draft documentation.
About You
To be successful in this role you will be comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst still maintaining a professional and approachable manner. You will enjoy working as part of a team and have excellent communication skills.
The Ideal candidate will have the following;
- Strong knowledge of security concepts and an awareness of security tools and their function.
- Good Knowledge of:
- Computer networking and how the internet works
- Windows operating system and Active Directory,
- Linux operating system, Powershell, Bash and/or Python
- Cloud technologies.
- Hold certifications such as Network+, Security+, CySA+, CCNA, SSCP and/or any Microsoft certifications (Desirable) or must be willing to work towards these certifications.
- Previous experience within security (desirable)
- Proven ability to own the development of the security architecture to support the delivery of IT projects
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Customer management and relationship building skills
- Excellent organisation, task prioritisation and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Must possess a full clean driving license, willing to travel when required
