Cyber and Technology Risk Control Consulting Director Job Specification
Position Summary
The position of Cyber and Technology risk control consulting director will be recognised as the most senior level, technical expert in Cyber and Technology risk control for CNA Hardy. The individual contributor will be responsible for the overall assessment, evaluation and delivery of risk control consulting services and technical support on the most complex risk exposures to support the Cyber and Technology business underwriting profit.
In conjunction with senior level management, the person will work within the broadest limits of authority requiring the highest degree of technical complexity and coordination for the Cyber and Technology business areas. The candidate will have European Cyber and Technology risk control responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with the risk control departmental guidelines:
- Performs workplace/work site risk evaluation and consultative risk improvement services on the most complex and/or sophisticated Cyber and Technology accounts.
- Conducts loss analysis on individual accounts or designated book of business for Cyber and Technology to identify root cause, trends and emerging issues and develops business solutions and products to minimize exposures with corresponding training materials to educate both internal and external Cyber and Technology customers on the issue as necessary.
- Assesses the Cyber and Technology customer's risk control program needs and develops and executes a customized strategy and supporting implementation plan. Manages the delivery of direct evaluative and consultative services, which may include the project management of outsourced solutions.
- Partners with underwriting, claims and other areas to provide information for risk evaluation and assessment on the most complex and/or sophisticated Cyber and Technology risks.
- Participates with senior management in the development and implementation of risk control policy, marketing and business strategy for the Cyber and Technology business.
- Provides account coordination of risk control services for multinational insured accounts, for the Cyber and Technology business. This is expected to involve close collaboration with US Risk Control for Cyber and Technology.
- Identifies opportunities for and/or develops new products and services, for the Cyber and Technology business.
- Membership of the global Centre of Expertise for Cyber.
- Provides expertise in the loss control activities for Cyber and Technology.
- Maintains an up to date technical competency on Cyber and Technology risk control issues and regulations, industry activity and trends.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- The highest level of Cyber / Technology technical and product specific expertise, risk control evaluation and assessment skills and knowledge of insurance and risk control principles, practices and procedures.

Education and Experience
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in Cyber and Technology, with one or more professional designations preferred, including CISM or CISA.
- A minimum of ten years of risk control insurance experience in the Cyber / Technology area, with a proven track record of results
