Customer Support Assistant 0.6 Full Time Equivalent

6 months fixed term with a view to becoming permanent

Salary: SP 18 - 21 | £22,284 - £24,194

We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Support Assistant to join our Communications Directorate based at York following the current postholder successfully moving on to a new role. This role will be working 22.2 hours per week, days and hours to be discussed at interview within the range 8.00am until 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield and Newcastle.

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the operational management of the College’s enquiry service taking and following through phone calls, checking and responding to emails, checking and responding to social media messaging consulting other colleagues as appropriate for specific information.

You will also be a key player in logging all of these communications with the College onto our CRM system and informing the wider communications team of common questions and queries. You will also provide support and relief cover to our busy reception staff.

This post is based within our thriving Further Education College and University Centre Askham Bryan with courses on offer including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Management, Countryside and the Environment, Engineering, Equine, Floristry, Motorsport, Outdoor Adventure Sport, Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness, Uniformed Public Services and Veterinary Nursing. The role is key to engaging and supporting potential students as their first point of contact with the College and ensuring all communications are logged and followed up appropriately.

Educated to level 3 or above, you will have experience of working with a wide range of people with different social and ethnic backgrounds, a wide range of abilities and from a range of age groups. You will have experience of telephone call response and working within a team.
