Key Responsibilities:
The post sits under the Housing Support Services team, which aids the day-to-day operations of the Housing Management department.
The post holder will be expected to act as first point of reception for incoming calls, visitors and emails, provide general administrative support to the Housing Services Team and carry out routine financial tasks. Teamwork, communications and flexibility within the normal office opening hours, to cover sickness and holidays, are implicit to the role.
This will include:
- Operate switchboard, answering calls in professional manner, forwarding calls to appropriate person/voicemail or passing on messages by email, actioning call messages when appropriate.
- Receive and greet visitors courteously and efficiently and follow agreed sign-in/security procedures
- Process ingoing and outgoing mail as appropriate
- Process rent payments, and any relevant requested finance tasks.
- Advice potential tenants regarding digital lettings system, and process information and documents related to the database
- General administration duties such as provide a typing service of letters, reports, minutes, mail merges, questionnaires, newsletters, tables or posters as requested, and scan and file correspondence, photocopy, collate and distribute correspondence
- Other duties, such as Fire Warden, Housekeeping at reception.
About you:
You will be educated to Standard Grade level, including Standard Grade English, or equivalent, have previous relevant experience, including experience of working in a customer focussed, front line role. You have excellent customer care skills and telephone manner to deal with customers sympathetically signposting them to relevant information.
You process excellent IT skills, including proficient in Office 365 applications, basic numeracy and high attention to detail. You have the ability to work as part of a team, to use your own initiative, and able to effectively liaise with customers and colleagues.

What we can offer to you:
- Contract: Part-time, Permanent
- Part-time hours: 20 hour per week on average on a jobshare basis – rota pattern:
Week 1: 24h per week / 8 hours per day (Wed-Fri).
Week 2: 16h per week / 8 hours per day (Thu-Fri).
- Salary: £14,729 per year
- Annual leave: pro-rata 28 days annual leave, plus 9 fixed public holidays - total 37 holidays per year.
