Mpeople Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service & Shipping Administrator for a well-established, yet rapidly growing organisation based in Oldham, on a permanent basis. The Sales & Logistics Coordinator will work within the operations department to provide administrative support to the rest of the team.
- Location: Oldham (OL8)
- Salary: £22,000 - £26,000 dependent on experience
- Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday, 2.00pm finish on a Friday
The Customer Service & Shipping Administrator will be responsible for (but not be limited to):
- Processing sales orders
- Following the sales / customer journey from initial enquiry through to completion, and keeping the customer informed every step of the way
- Liaising with the technical department to ensure customers are efficiently and correctly informed / updated
- Raising invoices (some pro forma)
- Chasing payments from customers
- Liaising with the warehouse regarding deliveries and collections
- Liaising with suppliers regarding the supply of equipment – building strong working relationships to minimise delays or problems
- International Freight – Organising inbound freight from suppliers, as well as any export freight. This includes liaising and building relationships with freight forwarders to ensure efficiency and that the business is getting the best price. Also ensuring any relevant freight documentation is completed, and recording transport costs so that the business is accurately charging customers.
- Working closely with the sales representatives
- Reporting – creating reports (regarding sales figures, current orders, invoicing etc) using Microsoft Excel on a weekly basis, and providing statistical information to management
- Updating the CRM and ensuring all information is accurately recorded
To be considered for the Customer Service & Shipping Administrator role, the skills & attributes needed are:
- Experience of working within an engineering / distribution sector, or working closely with engineers would be advantageous
- Experience of dealing with sales orders is essential, and
- Experience of dealing with suppliers is desirable
- Experience of dealing with freight forwarders and import/export is desirable
- Excellent rapport building and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Confident with dealing with business stakeholders of all levels
- Be resilient and have strong issue resolution skills
- Able to maintain great levels of accuracy / attention to detail even in a fast-paced environment
- Good IT skills including Microsoft softwares (advanced Excel skills would be advantageous due to reporting requirements)
