We’re recruiting for Customer Service Apprentices to join our Pensions team, with a starting salary of £22,000. This is a hybrid role where you’ll work 3 days from home and 2 days in our Cardiff office, Monday-Friday 9-5.

The L&G Customer Service Apprenticeship Programme has been designed to help you reach your potential, whether you’ve recently finished education or seeking a career change. As part of the 15-month Programme, you’ll complete three rotations within different Customer Service teams. You’ll develop your skillset, gain valuable work experience and, complete a fully funded professional qualification; Level 2 in Financial Services. Once a month, you’ll have a working day to focus on your studies and personal development. Then, once you’ve finished your apprenticeship your development doesn’t stop there, there’s a whole host of other learning you can do to reach your career aspirations.

What you'll be doing
  • The tasks are varied, meaning you’ll be talking to colleagues and customers regularly. It’s important to note that this role is a hybrid role which will involve administrative work or processing work and you will be talking to customers on the phone too.
  • Dealing with all correspondence from our internal and external customers, keeping them up to date on progress to ensure next stages are understood.
  • Maintaining scheme data, administering, and updating individual customer and client records.
  • Collaborating with other team members to ensure that customer enquiries and issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
What we're looking for
  • To qualify for the programme, you must be aged 16 or over and reside in Wales.
  • We’re not expecting prior industry experience or in fact any work experience; just a willingness to learn and a positive attitude
  • We will show you the L&G way. You’ll be in induction initially so, you’ll have the tools you need before you start helping our customers and clients.
  • People who love helping people! People who are straightforward, ambitious, authentic, collaborative, and purposeful.
  • Strong communication and administration skills and passion to support customers, whatever their personal circumstances.
  • Confidence in using a desktop or laptop and experienced in using MS Office.

  • Phone Interview with our Recruitment Team: from June 2023
  • Assessment Centre: July 2023. You’ll spend the day with us; you’ll meet colleagues who will tell you more about the programme and life at L&G. You’ll also participate in a face-to-face assessment centre.
  • Start date: September 2023
