ABOUT THIS ROLE: In this role, you will review applications, research state systems and register SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), Medicaid and TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) applications. You will schedule appointments, prepare interview letters and hotline forms. You will upload required documents into the DMIS. The ideal candidate will have critical thinking skills to help them evaluate applications; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work cooperatively with others as well as independently.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or G.E.D. and 1 year of related experience.

Experience screening and registering SNAP, Medicaid and TANF application in VaCMS- Strong computer skills; Experience with Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience working with Virginia Case Management System (VaCMS)
- Excellent customer service experience
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS: Full Time 37.5 hours per week M-F. Potential for telework.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- All Social Services staff members are required to provide emergency human services work in the event of an emergency or disaster.
