Job Purpose

To deliver budgeted sales and profit growth, whilst developing the operational and strategic partnerships within a sustainable, mutually profitable business model.


Main Responsibilities

  • To deliver quarterly and annual net sales/margin/profit targets by building, implementing and actively managing a Joint Business Plan, which is based on tailored commercial plans.

  • To demonstrate commercial acumen in interrogating the business, in order to swiftly identify issues and opportunities for resolution/optimisation.

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the retailer strategy, their shopper and how CP can optimise their brands and strategic intents within this environment.

  • Work closely with your Shopper Development Manager in order to build a shopper focused, outperformance plan which becomes integral to the JBP.

  • Work closely with your Category Manager to understand category growth opportunities and how to optimise for CP.

  • Be responsible for collaborative planning with your customer, owning the input and delivery of an accurate Customer forecast volume/sales/investment through effective 5P planning and clear identification of risks and opportunities on a monthly cycle.

  • Accountable for ensure customer ledger and financial acrruals and rebates are activated and settled appropriately working with the AR and Finance department.

  • Develop, communicate and implement a 3 year retailer strategy.

  • Work closely and creatively with CP retail marketing and brand managers to identify, develop and implement the appropriate business solutions required to drive the retailer business forward.

  • To build strong external networks, in order to enhance customer engagement, gain a broader understanding of the retailer and be the first to identify new business opportunities and challenges.

  • To build strong internal networks in order to raise the profile, business focus and support for the retailer.

  • Work closely and collaboratively within the CDT as a key contributor and team player, to shape both the overall team strategy and day to day workings, in order to optimise the total retailer team performance.

  • To proactively take on business development projects within the customer development function, to drive and influence the broader CP business.
