Animal Care Assistant
Salary: £22,000 per annum
Location: Cathcart & Winn Veterinary, Surrey
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 40 hours per week. There will be a requirement to work rotating shifts between the hours of 8am-7pm, five days a week. There will be a requirement to work some Saturday's 8:30am-4:30pm.

The role of an Animal Care Assistant is to support the nursing and wider practice team in achieving the highest standards of care, working enthusiastically within the team you will help maintain a happy, efficient and effective working environment.
The Animal Care Assistant role will involve working in a variety of areas within the practice covering client and patient care. Approximately 20% of the role will involve working with the front of house team, ensuring compassionate communication to our clients and continuity of care for their pets.
Your role and responsibilities
Giving oral medication under supervision
Completing paperwork to ensure accurate monitoring of all in-patient care
Feeding in-patients, noting specific dietary needs
Exercising in-patients
Bathing and grooming in-patients if required
Deep Cleaning kennels, the hospital and other practice areas
Operating the laundry equipment
Checking stock levels and ordering supplies as necessary
Supporting the Clinical and Reception team
Answering calls and assisting owners
General housekeeping
Operating lab equipment to run tests
Supporting nurse team in Dispensary
Maintaining infection control
Patient-friendly handling
Providing supportive care to patients, under the direction of the Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse
