As the UK’s leading pub, cider and beer business, we’re home to some of the world’s best-loved ciders and beers, and a leading player in the international drinks industry. But there’s so much more to HEINEKEN than meets the eye.
Right now, we’re looking for a Customer Development Executive to join our On-Trade sales team.
The Role
Reporting into the Customer Development Director, this role works closely with team members and key stakeholders to support the achievement of our value share objective by driving brand penetration, visibility and quality across a range of indirect channels. The core of the role focuses on driving incremental net distribution by retaining the current distribution footprint and unlocking incremental opportunities, ensuring the right brands are distributed in the right outlets.
The CDE will activate key brand platforms, campaigns and events across relevant outlets in the patch. You’ll work closely with our national and indirect team to deliver tactical activity in accounts and execute new opportunities.
You’ll need to develop and maintain a high profile within the geography by building a strong network of customers and contacts with regular meetings to build a pipeline of new opportunities.
The Candidate
This role is fast paced and requires flexibility in it’s approach. You’ll need to adapt your selling style and tools according to the customer and channel. This can be done by building quick, quality relationships with customers.
We need someone with a real passion for brands, able to discuss our portfolio with the enthusiasm it deserves.
If you have;
- Excellent communication skills
- Brand selling experience
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to get on with people from all walks of life
- Commercial acumen and negotiating skills
Experience in pubs and beer isn’t essential for this role and we actively encourage people with a passion for sales in any industry to submit an application!
We embrace learning and growth, and we anticipate there is scope to develop in this role. You are also likely to bring experiences that enhance this role that are not listed above, therefore not every box needs to be ticked when it comes to experience or skill sets.
Life at HEINEKEN
We’re building a future that embraces innovation, sustainability, diversity and, of course, the opportunity for our 2,400 UK colleagues to make the most of their careers.
We encourage all our colleagues to grow and reach their full potential. We’re also well-aware that successful careers seldom run in a straight line, so if you’re in search of fresh opportunities (including global or cross-functional moves), mentoring or simply want to pick up a new skill, you’ll have access to all the support you need.
Caring for people & the planet is one of our core values and we understand that each of our colleagues’ needs and circumstances are different. This is why we have a smarter working policy in place which includes access to hybrid working, flexible start and finish times and condensed hours, to name a few.
Our colleagues love life at HEINEKEN, and we’re confident you’ll feel the same way – but don’t take our word for it. Search the #LifeAtHEINEKENUK hashtag on LinkedIn to hear from our colleagues about what makes HEINEKEN such a special business to be a part of.
The application
If you like what you’ve read and want to explore this opportunity further, please apply as soon as possible.
Please note, we may close vacancies early where we receive significant numbers of applications, so don’t delay!
If you need any adjustments made to support your application, for example if you require information in different formats, or if you have any accessibility issues, then we’re more than happy to review our processes – please feel free to get in touch with us as [email protected].
In all likelihood the ideal candidate for this role won’t meet every single requirement in this advert, in fact we all need the opportunity to grow and develop in role. We understand some applicants are less likely to apply to jobs unless they feel they meet every single qualification. The team at HEINEKEN would encourage you to submit an application if the advert has peaked your interest rather than ruling yourself out based on any self-limiting beliefs. You never know, you may be exactly what we’re looking for!
