Job description
Homestead Marketplace is looking for a motivated and reliable cleaner to perform general custodial duties (such as cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting) to help keep our stores, and property, looking their best. This is a permanent, full-time position from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
We are seeking a full-time Cleaner/Custodian for our Trenton, Ontario location.

Your responsibilities in this role:
- Take pride in keeping our stores clean and tidy
- Disinfect high traffic showroom surfaces daily
- Clean/disinfect washrooms including stalls, mirrors, walls, toilets, floors, and sinks
- Clean/disinfect staff rooms including sinks, countertops, appliances, and eating areas
- Empty Garbage/Recycling bins
- Dust furniture, appliances, and electronics
- Vacuum/sweep and spot mop floors where applicable
- Clean glass surfaces
- Restock single unit dispensers containing soap, paper towels, toilet paper etc.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and communicate supply needs
- Practice all Health & Safety procedures and policies
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Previous cleaning experience is an asset
- WHMIS training is an asset
- Reliability and dependability
- An ability to read cleaning instructions
- A level of mathematical skills sufficient to perform calculations such as cleaning fluids ratios
- An ability to differentiate between cleaning products and uses
- A positive attitude and the ability to take initiative
Requirements:
- Criminal Record Check
- Availability to work seasonal weekends or on-site events if necessary
- Ability to lift 40lbs – 50lbs
