As one of three schools in the Faculty, the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health is the largest School and delivers undergraduate and post graduate courses for a range of health professions including; nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science, operating department practice, and most recently diagnostic radiography. We also have a large portfolio of CPD courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including Advanced Clinical Practice and Non-Medical prescribing.
The Role
The Occupational Therapy portfolio includes BSc Occupational Therapy and MSc Occupational Therapy pre-registration. We also offer pre-registration apprenticeships at BSc and MSc levels in Coventry and at our Vauxhall campus in London. We are currently seeking to recruit a senior academic into the role of Curriculum Lead for Occupational Therapy with a vision to further enhance the success of the portfolio. The Curriculum Lead will focus on the development and enhancement of the area, including the curriculum and portfolio, teaching, learning and assessment patterns and core skills, ensuring that the current and future directions of the subject are being addressed, including but not limited to professional body and statutory regulatory requirements, as appropriate, working with key stakeholders within and external to the School/Faculty as needed.
Our Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who will join the School senior leadership team to drive the School’s vision and ambitions for the occupational therapy curriculum area and to support staff in effective delivery of high-quality courses and promote an excellent student experience. The role-holder will have strategic responsibility for leading curriculum development and for managing the allocation of resources to ensure performance and growth targets are achieved. Applicants should have experience of developing and delivering education programmes within the UK, and line managing academic teams within a relevant portfolio. You will have extensive teaching experience and evidence of successful innovation and programme development or a demonstration of these capabilities from a business environment. You will also have High level of proficiency in ICT and understanding of its application to teaching, learning and research.
