UnspecifiedWe are currently seeking to recruit an Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Coordinator to join our team in Burgess Hill, West Sussex.
The successful candidate will support the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) team in ensuring compliance with UK regulatory and legislative requirements, as well as RTX/Collins standards and programs. This position will support both the Burgess Hill and Winnersh locations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee, review, update and implement selected programs of the sites environmental, health and safety programs, permits, reports, training, and procedures.
Drive action plans to meet or exceed aggressive EH&S goals.
Partner with the leadership team and Facilities and EH&S to ensure the best EH&S practices and standard work are relentlessly driven across the site.
Work on cross-functional projects that interface with other groups external to and within the core Facilities and EH&S team.
Participate in EH&S subcommittees.
Assist in the development of policies and procedures to ensure the continuous improvement of EH&S management systems in the facility.
Conducts site inspections and participates in compliance audits, including ISO14001 & ISO45001.
Drive hazard risk assessment strategies, program evaluations and other required EH&S initiatives.
Support RTX/Collins sustainability initiatives and goals, including energy use, waste, and water reuse/reduction programs.
Conduct workplace hazard analyses/assessments, coordinating team involvement for the identification and implementation of corrective actions/controls to mitigate risks.
Provide timely information and guidance regarding EH&S performance trends, root cause corrective actions for injuries and near misses; and support in the development and implementation of strategic action plans to achieve the company goal of having a hazard-free workplace, injury-free employees and an unmatched commitment to compliance and sustainability.
Develop internal and external communication.
Prepare reports, develop and maintain documents.
As required instruct EH&S training courses to ensure compliance, employee engagement, and continuous improvement efforts for EH&S trainings.
Basic Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will:
Hold a NEBOSH National General Certificate in OHS (or equivalent), in addition you will ideally hold a NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate
Have equivalent work experience within a manufacturing and engineering environment
Have proven experience in developing and implementing environment, health and safety systems including policies, procedures and programs
Be able to promote EH&S compliance at all organisational levels
Be able to think strategically as well as operationally
Have experience in operational hazard and risk management, contractor management, environment, health and safety auditing and investigation
Have a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and good organizational skills
Be curious, have a continuous improvement mindset and easily build trusting relationships
Be a confident, effective communicator and enjoy working as part of a team
Be passionate about your work, take pride in your work and always strive for the best
Demonstrate a solution-oriented approach and best-practice knowledge
Have a high level of computer and IT literacy
Be flexible and adaptable
This is a mid-level role suited to a candidate who enjoys generalist environment, health, safety and wellbeing activities, who values variety and enjoys working with a broad range of people in a busy environment.
