About QC Law
QC Law Ltd t/a Queens Court Law was established in 2019, starting as a 2-partner firm to presently having a headcount of over 40 employees. We aim to expand to a headcount of 500 employees. Queens Court Law is a niche immigration law practice which now has its sights on expanding their teams in the conveyancing, personal injury, litigation and criminal departments. We have office space across two floors in a classical but well equipped office at Lincolns Inn Fields. Our solicitors currently have 30 years combined experience. Responsibilities and Duties
· Various admin and commercial tasks
· Attend police stations and advice clients
· Take witness statements and proofs of evidence
· Drafting correspondence and providing advice to clients (subject to close supervision)
· Respond to/draft bad character and hearsay applications
· Prepare briefs to counsel
· Instruct expert witnesses
· Submit and process applications for legal aid and prior authority, so familiarity with the LAA Portal would be an advantage
· On complex and/or high-volume cases, you will work within a team, assisting with specific tasks (e.g. document reviews, preparation of court documents, etc.)
· Matter management and client reporting
Requirements and Qualifications
· Paralegal experience in a Criminal Department (1or 2 years)
· Police Station accredited
· Have excellent client-care skills
· Commercial awareness and relationship building
· Experienced in legal aid and familiar with the LAA Portal
· Familiar with LEAP case management system
· Organised, thorough and reliable
· Personable and good team player
· Second language is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £23,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
