Thames Valley Police (TVP) is making a significant, multi-year investment in our Forensic Services and is transforming our wide array of forensic disciplines as well as crime scene investigation, to create a forward looking, accredited service which delivers proportionate, timely services that support effective crime investigation for TVP and other external organisations.

As a key decision maker, you will drive forward continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to the operational performance of the CSI team and its compliance with the Forensic Science Regulator’s Codes. You will assist in the roll-out and compliance of standards as set out within ISO: 17020 Accreditation for Volume Crime Scene Examination activities across all 6 CSI hubs (and in time expanding the scope of accreditation to cover Serious and Major Crime Investigations).

The successful candidate will already possess substantial CSI experience and have a wide knowledge of the application of Forensic Science and Crime Scene Management in order to support investigations. They will also possess leadership skills in order to supervise a small team and the ability to influence and build good business relationships with all key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake the established psychological screening process.

Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.

This is a Hybrid role with the ability to work from home for 2-3 days per week on average. Start times etc. by negotiation. The post holder has a nominated base station but will be expected to work from other sites Force-wide.
