Job description
Event Crew
If you are looking for something a bit out of the ordinary, you enjoy driving/travelling, work well with people and have good practical skills then this is a job well worth considering. Initially these are seasonal roles but many of our existing event crew have worked for us for over twenty years on and off.
TRO is probably not a local company you have heard of, but don’t be put off by that; we have been here in Norfolk since 1982! A local business back then which started out at Wroxham Barns and now part of a worldwide group but still well and truly rooted in Norfolk. We have a large warehouse and operational facility from where we deliver around 1500 events/exhibitions a year for our impressive client list which includes BMW, Genesis, British Airways, JTI, Cinch and Subaru to name but a few….
We are looking for around five new team members to join our Event Crew team this summer; you will be called an “Event Operator” and the work is mainly between May and September * some specific project roles may be shorter periods
We offer a temporary contract with a competitive day rate and will guarantee you five days a week of work on average over the summer, unless you want to work less which is fine too. We also offer paid holiday and when you work away you get paid a tax-free daily subsistence allowance.
A bit about the role:
· You’ll prepare, check and load event kit at our Norwich base and subsequently unload and return check.
· You’ll drive all over the UK (and potentially further afield) delivering displays and events on behalf of our clients.
· You’ll transport, set-up and dismantle promotional stands, trailers and miscellaneous resources to, from and in-between event venues.
· You’ll often provide event duty services throughout an event period i.e.: maintenance of event kit, cleanliness, provide refreshments, deal with our clients, our client’s customers and members of the public *some roles can even include promoting/sampling/selling product to the public
A bit about you:
· You are Flexible to work demands – fast changing requests, working away from home and unsocial hours, weekends and bank holidays etc..
· You hold a full UK driving license with min 6 penalty points, have good experience of driving cars and of travel around UK, comfortable driving different cars, safe and competent with good driving record. Ideally able to drive a van safely.
· You will like the sound of working within our industry and the opportunity to support some amazing event work. You will love what you do and show it – embracing each task with energy and enthusiasm!
· You are practical with some relevant experience of making/building/fixing stuff.
· You will have a good physical fitness and lots of energy to cope with what is a physically demanding job.
