Job Title: Credit Controller/ Accounts Supervisor
Responsible to: Management Accountant
Responsible for: Day to Day running of the Credit Control function & the Aged Debt reporting.
Department/Location: Accounts/Tonbridge Head Office.

Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and experienced Credit Controller to manage our debt recovery system. Our credit controller is key role working within our Finance team to ensure both deadlines are met and clients are treated with respect, professionalism and a great service. In this role you will be responsible for liaising with our customers, ensuring they are aware of their payment terms and credit limits, whilst chasing overdue invoices in an empathetic and professional manner. This is a fast paced environment with lots to learn.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Guarantee that all customers are aware of payment terms and credit limits.
- Put in place, where appropriate, credit checks for new and existing customers.
- Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email, and letter within agreed timescales.
- Maintain accurate records of all activities.
- Regularly follow up with customers to ensure all relevant debts are managed and liase with external debt collector agency when required.
- Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met.
- Send out monthly client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time.
- Resolve customer disputes in a timely fashion.
- Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries.
- Provide ad-hoc reporting as and when requested by management.
- Undertake account reconciliations as required.
- Issue credit notes and process receipts.
- Recording and allocating payments for sales ledger.
- Be pro-active in all aspects of the ledger, to review and maintain accounts in line with business requirements.
- Assist with setting up of direct debits.
- Regularly review the Lili Waste Services debt recovery procedures.
- Provide support to other departments as required.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must have 3 years plus of credit control experience / AAT Qualification an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills with both colleagues and customers.
- Confidence to make decisions and work well under pressure.
- Good analytical skills.
- Great negotiator with the ability to build a rapport with customers and diffuse situations.
- Computer literature, i.e. MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Sage200, Sage 50Accounts.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
Salary in the region of £27,000 to £30,000 per annum dependent on experience in a similar role
