Job description
Creative Artworker
A bit about us
Dandelion Stationery is a multi-award winning publisher of greetings cards, stationery and other gift items, based in Barrow Upon Trent, Derbyshire. We supply a vast range of shops across the UK as well as exporting to several territories overseas.
All of our products are designed in our Studio HQ, and then manufactured in the UK. Our Derbyshire Studio HQ adjoins our own warehouse where we have a dedicated small team who work hard to get all our orders packed and dispatched out to our customers all over the world.
Our studio is very relaxed – the kettle is always on, and there is usually biscuits galore – we are a small and friendly team, but we are often very busy – anyone joining us will be comfortable working in a busy environment.
A bit about the role
We are looking for a Creative Artworker to join our small studio team. You will be involved in creating/editing a wide variety of artwork associated with our products. Typically you will take designs that have been created and prepare them for production – you will make sure everything is set up perfectly. This will involve checking and making changes to text, images and layout.
You will get involved in lots of stuff – the role is very varied (you definitely won’t be bored!). Some regular tasks will include:
- Creating/managing marketing tools such as product brochures (printed and digital versions), website images and social media posts
- Artworking products from our portfolio to ensure they are set up correctly for production
- Barcoding products
- Resizing/editing artwork as required
A bit about you
You will be friendly and enthusiastic and will enjoy working in a team environment. You will have an exceptional eye for detail – even the smallest of errors with artwork can be incredibly costly and you will be responsible for identifying/correcting any errors prior to final print approval.
You will regularly liaise with customers/suppliers so you will be a clear and concise communicator, comfortable building relationships.
Essential:
- You will have absolutely excellent skills, knowledge and practical experience of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop. (Knowledge of Fresco is beneficial).
- You will work well in a busy environment, working to deadlines. You will be comfortable prioritising an often busy workload.
- You will be creative and innovative, brimming with ideas.
- You will have tons of enthusiasm - you will have a can-do and positive attitude and won’t let minor hurdles get you down.
- You will enjoy working in a small team, but you will also be happy and capable to work independently – you will get on and get stuff done.
- You will have excellent attention to detail and will be able to demonstrate examples of this.
- You will be super-organised, with excellent file management skills.
- You will have a flexible approach – in a small business there are times where you have to adapt and get involved in things that are not normally your job.
- You will be dog-friendly (we have two office dogs who are regularly wandering around the office and warehouse).
Desirable:
- Illustration skills (ideally digital) would be a HUGE bonus
- A formal design qualification
- Practical experience in a busy design environment
- Photography skills (product/lifestyle photography)
- Experience of using/creating social media content
- Experience of video editing (short videos for social media / marketing purposes)
- Experience of Mailchimp
Hours, Salary & other bits
This role is based in our studio in Barrow Upon Trent, Derbyshire (DE73 7HH).
The role has some level of flexibility and could be 24-32 hours worked across 3 or 4 days – we are happy to discuss/agree the working pattern with the successful individual.
Salary will dependant on skills and experience (please ensure to let us know any particular salary expectations on your application).

- A relaxed work environment with free tea & coffee (and often biscuits!)
- Increased annual leave entitlement with longevity
