The Job:

  • CREATE is the branded content studio for CNN International. We tell authentic stories that inspire and engage our audience. Through a data-informed process we deliver award-winning, relevant content to our audience of influential decision makers.

  • As part of the creative team, the Research Intern will support the delivery of award-winning film and digital branded content for clients of CNN International globally.

  • Reporting into the Head of Copy and Global Executive Producer, the Research Intern primary responsibility is assisting the sold production teams through desktop research and write ups of findings, in support of development of creative content production.

The Daily:

You’ll become CREATE Brand Studio’s knowledge centre about an important topic and identify prospective stories and talent. We’re looking for someone with excellent research and communication skills, who can think both creatively and commercially.

Research and Creative:

  • Support the Producers and Heady of Copy with the fulfilment of the CREATE production workload of film and digital articles

  • Deep research into multiple industries and issues

  • Working with our creative teams, define the scope of each project and anticipate any challenges. Write comprehensive reports summarising findings and ideas, and present to the wider team

  • Write concise and comprehensive briefing notes on prospective subject, talent, story, for benefit of production teams

  • Help the team identify opportunities for new topics, story, talent

  • Ensure all research and data is tracked, validated with trusted sources, and any potential risks are flagged

The Essentials:

  • You must be a recent university graduate, having graduated no earlier than July 2021.

  • Experience of applying research skills within a creative environment

  • A passion for stories

  • An understanding of people and what engages them

  • A strong interest in content production, specifically written, animated and filmed content

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good organisational and administrative skills

  • Good attention to detail

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Outlook), and Apple devices

  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to strict deadlines

  • Ability to source talent and story options for written articles, animation and live action film executions

  • Ability to build and maintain good working relationships

  • Ability to work with confidential information with complete discretion

  • Ability to work both autonomously and as a team player in a small team environment when required

The Internship:

  • Salary: £26,000

  • Contract Length: 12 months

  • Start Date: 14th August 2023
