Duties/Responsibilities
We are currently recruiting for a Crane Service & Maintenance Engineer for our site in Berkshire
Hours: 0745-1630 (1615 on Fridays), 30 minute lunch, 9 day fortnight (avg. 37hrs per week)
Job Purpose:
Responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and defect rectification on allcranes, lifting equipment, roller shutter doors and other electrical and mechanical equipment.
Duties/responsibilities/accountabilities/deliverables
- Conduct themselves at all times in accordance with EMCOR and AWE core values and code ofethics
- Ensure that all servicing and inspections are completed in accordance with the planned schedule
- Build and maintain excellent client relationships and ensure that customer service standards areachieved
- Work closely with the planner to identify task blockers at an early stage and communicateaccordingly
• Maintain awareness of developments in standards and legislation affecting the crane servicingdiscipline and support change, as required• Maintain technical and safety standards
- Produce service reports and condition reports
- Identify and communicate potential business opportunities
- Provide guidance and training or Apprentice Service Engineers
- Respond and work flexibly in response to equipment breakdowns
- Obtain quotes from preferred and approved EMCOR supplies for materials and labour costs
- Undertake appropriate external training courses (residential, if required)
- Undertake appropriate internal training courses
- Undertake work in areas covered by the Ionising Radiation Regulations
- Undertake training and qualification for Appointed Person and Work Supervisory Office status
Person Specification
- A recognised engineering qualification ONC/HNC/HND/I.Eng
- A minimum qualification of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a lifting equipment discipline
- A proven crane servicing engineering background
- Knowledge of in-service inspection procedures and processes
- A Health & Safety qualification is desirable
- Proven working knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety legislation associated withlifting equipment (LOER)
- Sound knowledge of PUWER
- A good command of the English language and the ability to compile formal reports usingMicrosoft Office
- Must obtain & maintain the required security clearance
- Smart, presentable appearance
- Personable and approachable
- Must have a full and current UK driving license
- Display a flexible approach towards working practices and working hours
