Providing a Courier Service for Clinics, HDFT and the community. Delivering and returning SSD, Equipment, PPE, mail, Swabs and Bloods
To provide a mail and specimen collection and delivery service to General Practitioners, Community and HDFT units.
2 Transportation of goods including linen, laundry furniture, medical equipment, clean and dirty sterile services equipment, stores and pharmacy items.
3 Carry out ad hoc furniture and equipment movement as directed.
4 Deliver Liquid Nitrogen to General Practitioners as the schedule states.
5 Drive, clean and carry out daily checks on vehicles.
6 Drive vehicles responsibly and safely reporting any defects to the Portering and Logistics Manager.
7 Follow good practices, guidelines and procedures in relation to Health and Safety, Manual Handling, Security, Emergency and Fire.
8 Liaise with other members of staff to maintain good working relationships.
9 Maintain and promote good relations with patients, visitors, and other organisations.
Harrogate Integrated Facilities (HIF) was formed in 2018 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Harrogate and District Foundation NHS Trust (HDFT). We supply a wide range of essential services to HDFT hospitals and community sites, including; cleaning, catering, portering, courier and transport, hotel services, estates maintenance, sterile services, equipment library, security, car parking, general office and administration, energy, waste and environmental impact reduction.
One of our 386 dedicated HIF colleagues, is often the first person a patient or visitor meets when they come to Harrogate District Hospital and can make a real positive difference to them. Our work is also vital to ensure that our NHS colleagues in the medical teams have the facilities and equipment they need to provide excellent care.
