Job description
We are currently looking for a nanny/preschool counselor to help care for a 1-year old girl and 4-year old boy while their parents work on-site at the summer camp, a boys’ overnight camp– Towering Pines Camp for Boys in Eagle River, Wisconsin. We serve boys ages 7-17 years, and are located in Northern Wisconsin, in the Chain of Lakes region. Towering Pines Camp occupies a 100 plus-acre site, nestled between North Nokomis Lake and Paradise Lake in the heart of the American Legion Forest.
The 1-year old would need hands-on care for the time you’re with her. She is just about walking, and a very sociable little girl who still naps twice a day. Both children will be eating meals with their parents in the dining hall. The 4-year old, a very lively and fun-loving little boy, would need guidance getting from activity area to activity area, and help facilitating activities as he navigates a schedule as a “day camper” for the first time. Parents would be on-site working and available to consult if questions arise or in case of emergency.

Core Responsibilities:
- Guide and care for the preschoolers at various activities with the rest of the camp community (nature walks, gymnastics, crafts, swimming)
- Spend time with us at whole camp events (campfire and various evening activities)
- Assist during meal times
- Occasional evening babysitting
- Be a positive role model
- Be a helpful member of the camp community as a whole
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age: Base salary of $1,800 + $100 per year of age/experience + $200 for LG/CPR certification + Travel up to $200
- Have child care experience
- MUST love children and the outdoors!
- Live on sight during the camp season from June 16 - August 6 (this includes a week of pre-camp training and facility set up)
