What's the role?
As the General Ledger Accountant, you will be part of the Finance Shared Service Center General Ledger team and be responsible for performing compliant General Ledger (GL) processes and preparing financial statements (balance sheet and P&L) that fulfil the legal, statutory and Group requirements of the legal entity.

What does the role involve?
- Support entities in Northern Europe and/or Middle East/Africa by executing compliant GL processes and preparing financial statements and other statutory returns (e.g. tax returns, statistics etc.) by preparing relevant information in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with group, legal and tax requirements and deadlines by operating GL related ICS (Internal Control System) controls, working in close collaboration with tax consultants and local entity’s counterparts
- Be a sparring partner for the Finance Directors (CFOs) by linking business decisions to accounting processes and by delivering and improving agreed GL services to the entities in scope
- Identify and drive GL processes and service level improvements using LEAN tools and best suited technologies
- Manage and coordinate audit process (internal and external) for the assigned Hilti entities

What you need is:
- To be qualified or part qualified accountant or studying towards an accounting qualification
- Solid knowledge of finance and tax as well as a good understanding of double entry/bookkeeping
- Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills, adherence to deadline
- LEAN mindset and strive for improvement
- To be enthusiastic, proactive and self-reliant person and a good team player
- Excellent communication skills
- A willingness and ability towards continuous learning
- Technical skills (Power Query, Business Intelligence, Macro etc.) as an advantage, but not a must
- Expertise in SAP S/4 HANA as an advantage
