Hooded Owls Ltd is a small but growing e-commerce business providing bathtime products for children.
We are currently looking for a production assistant to work in our Handmade Cosmetics team making products such as bath bombs, bubble bars and soaps for our Bathtime Adventures brand as we go into our busy Christmas period.
Job summary
Working within an existing team, you will be responsible for hand-making products such as bath bombs, bubble bars and soaps in our studio on the Luton Hoo Estate.
Skills needed
To do this job you will need to be able to:
· Read and follow technical written instructions and processes assiduously
· Precisely measure out ingredients
· Mix and make products, both by hand and using machinery
· Hand-paint and airbrush with excellent attention to detail
· Package finished products to a high standard
· From time to time you may also be asked to help with other activities within the business
Relevant experience is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided. An interest or skills in similar activities such as baking or craft-making would be beneficial.
About you
Creative and energetic, methodical and organised, you have excellent attention to detail and understand the importance of producing products to the highest possible standard. You have the ability to work under pressure within given timescales, and look forward to learning and trying new things. You will need to be comfortable working independently as well as in a team.
Please note you will be working with chemicals and fragrance oils so this role may not be suitable for anyone with allergies or skin disorders. You will be required to wear PPE (supplied) including a face mask at times in line with Health & Safety guidelines.
Hours
We try to offer working hours that fit around school hours and family life, so our production schedule is based on a working day between 9am–3pm Monday to Friday.
This role is for 25 hours spread over 5 days. It is a temporary contract until Christmas with the potential to become permanent in the New Year.
