Job description
We are in search of a skilled Formulation Chemist to bolster our dynamic team. In this role, under the assistance of our Senior Chemist and with the backing of the Head of R&D, you'll be tasked with crafting products, preparing samples for review and testing, and spearheading projects to guarantee that our products not only meet client expectations but also launch punctually and within budget constraints.
Experience within cosmetic formulation is essential - Proactive research, and project management is a necessity for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulation Development: Collaborate closely with the Head of R&D and chemists to create and optimise cosmetic formulations in line with product briefs and company specifications.
- Sample Preparation: Ready and evaluate prototypes for submission, ensuring they align with designated performance, stability, and safety standards.
- Project Management: Oversee formulation projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and client satisfaction.
- Research & Development: Engage in active research to stay abreast of the latest ingredients, technologies, and trends in the cosmetic formulation domain.
- Documentation: Keep meticulous and up-to-date records of formulations, tests, and results to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance.
- Collaboration: Forge strong relationships with cross-departmental teams, including marketing, production, and regulatory, to assure seamless product development and launch.
Qualifications:
- A scientific degree (ideally in cosmetic or pharmaceutical science).
- Experience in cosmetic formulation, research, and project management.
- Comprehensive understanding of cosmetic ingredients, formulation techniques, and testing protocols.
- Understanding of current industry regulations and standards.
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 16 per week
Salary: Up to £12.00 per hour
