Job Summary
The Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a key role in the identification, attraction, and selection of diverse top talent for Facilities Management & Development (FMD). Reporting to the Sr. Director of Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning, the Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist has functional knowledge and acts as an integral part of the FMD recruitment process including being a consultant and advisor to the hiring manager and the search committee to ensure the attraction and selection of a broad and diverse pool of qualified candidates for staff and management positions. FMD provides campus-wide services including but not limited to: capital construction projects as well as repairs and maintenance to campus structures and grounds along with utilities and sustainability.
In addition to providing consultative support, the Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist engages in planning, attraction, selection, and hiring, including sourcing for and engaging with a broad a diverse population of prospective candidates, designing and implementing marketing campaigns, assessing candidates, analyzing compensation, advising on offers, and inputting data into complex systems. In order to develop and maintain a thorough knowledge, the Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist conducts research and analysis in key areas of recruitment, including regulation, policy, process, outreach, brand, marketing, assessment, compensation, technology, and continuous process improvement.
This role partners with FMD leadership and staff, the Assistant Director University Personnel Partner Services, Talent Acquisition and Human Resource peers, and utilizes external resources to assess strategic priorities and implement campus-wide solutions to ensure diverse top talent is selected by Cal Poly in alignment with the university's DEI goals.
This is a full-time, 12-month temporary position with possibility of extension and is eligible for full benefits, including medical, dental, vision and CalPERS retirement.
Department Summary
The Talent Acquisition team is is focused on developing Talent Acquisition at Cal Poly to be the exemplary recruiting function for the CSU system. The group works collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and is committed to developing broad and diverse pools of highly-qualified applicants, promoting a great candidate experience, supporting our committees and hiring managers, and continuously improving.
Facilities Management and Development (FMD), a unit within the Administration and Finance Division (A&F), is responsible for the planning, design, construction, operations, maintenance, and repair of university facilities, grounds, and infrastructure. FMD consists of four critical and interdependent support departments, including Customer & Business Services; Environmental Health & Safety; Facilities Planning & Capital Projects; and Facilities Operations. Key Qualifications
Skilled in talent sourcing, assessment, and selection techniques
Demonstrated ability to build trusted partnerships and work collaboratively and professionally with others to meet shared objectives
Experience in the use recruiting of software solutions, including applicant tracking systems and CRMs
Experience using social media and other new media for prospect generation
Thorough working knowledge of current best practices and trends within recruiting and ability to apply knowledge to advance defined goals and outcomes
Skilled at producing work product on time and with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to set priorities and coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time-sensitive deadlines
Education and Experience
Graduation from a four-year college or university. Three years of technical or administrative experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Salary and Benefits
Anticipated Hiring Range: $68,000 - $80,000 per year
Classification Range: $50,040 - 90,540 per year
