The Opportunity
We are looking for a Corporate & Public Affairs Lead, Europe & Africa to join our regional leadership team. This is a high profile and critical role for BCW and reports directly to our Europe & Africa Regional President (based in the UK), with key stakeholder relationships with our network of Market Leaders and key senior business leads across BCW globally.
Given this is a regional role, we are open to where this role could be based. BCW Europe & Africa offices are in Belgium, Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, South Africa, Turkey and UK.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Design, lead and execute BCW’s E&A Corporate & Public Affairs (CPA) strategy and business;
- Act as senior counsellor to key clients and BCW teams on CPA matters within the region;
- Personally maintain and develop a roster of key CPA clients;
- In conjunction with E&A senior management, strengthen BCW’s CPA talent, in particular across key cities like Brussels, London, Berlin and Paris.
- Build and lead a community of liked-minded CPA professionals across the region.
- Help develop and partner with BCW’s Global CPA offer and teams, in particular in Washington DC and Beijing;
- Contribute to the overall management, leadership and success of BCW E&A.
- Grow BCW’s E&A CPA offer and client roster with a focus on:
- Organic client growth;
- New business development, including leading responses to requests for proposals, pitching and proactively identifying and pursuing opportunities, both externally and within the BCW network;
- Developing the BCW CPA offer, including new proprietary solutions/IP and go to market strategy
- Drive innovation around the BCW CPA offer and proprietary solutions/IP, in particular as it relates to the integration with digital, social and data
To be successful in this role, you will have
- Deep expertise in corporate & public affairs, with experience across multiple markets and key capital cities, gained in a consultancy, corporate role or professional services firm.
- Demonstrable experience of sustainability and Environmental, Social & Corporate Governance (ESG) and specifically how it impacts policy and PA as well as corporate reputation and corporate brand
- Experience counselling at the most senior levels, including campaign development and influencing outcomes.
- Proven experience in new business development and pitching.
- Experience as a team leader and builder, with the ability to hire and inspire the next generation of public affairs leaders.
- Established networks across E&A with policymakers, media, business leaders and influencers.
